About Backstory Films

As the youngest of eleven children, I grew up listening to stories of adventure, discovery, love, heartbreak, success and failure from those around me. It was a wonderful way to learn how to truly listen to someone’s story, to absorb it in a way that enabled its retelling.

Today, after a 20+ year professional pedigree in writing and producing films for brands like Qantas, Woolworths and the Commonwealth Bank, I’ve turned my skills to capturing the stories of everyday Australians.

I think being given the opportunity to sit and talk to someone about their memories is one of life’s great joys. And being able to then turn that conversation into a concise narrative film - for their families to keep forever – is a true privilege.
